New Blondie album

Blondie is together will release a new album in 2011.

Billboard.com reports Blondie will release a new album, Panic of Girls, in 2011. It will be the band’s first studio album in seven years. The band has been performing new material during its summer tour, including the songs What I Heard, The End and Mother.

Drummer Clem Burke told the magazine: "We’ve been getting a great reception with the new material. We’re doing about five or six of them in the show, which is kind of difficult for people, hearing new material for the first time at a show. But we’ve been doing really well with it."

Though lead singer and frontwoman Deborah Harry wrote most of the lyrics, the drummer says: "Everyone in the band contributed songs. We’ve switched out a few people in the band, so the creative dynamic has changed a little bit."

Panic of Girls will first be released in Australia next year to coincide with Blondie’s scheduled tour with The Pretenders. The album will have a staggered release elsewhere.
