Dancy and Ritter (27 Dresses) confirmed that they would play in the Disney Studios production, Confessions of a Shopaholic.
The starring role goes to Fisher, who is returning to the set after having her baby daughter Olive. This romantic comedy will be directed by P.J. Hogan, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The screenplay was written by Tim Firth, Tracey Jackson and Kayla Alpert.
The movie is based on the best-selling novels by Sophie Kinsella who tells the story of a compulsive buyer in Manhatten. This buyer, played by Fisher, will become a financial writer for a magazine, but has a hard time managing her own finances.
Dancy will play the magazine’s editor, while Ritter will play Fisher’s best friend. Filming will begin next month in New York and Connecticut.
