New Chanel ad campaign

French actor Gaspard Ulliel will be the face of a new Chanel ad campaign filmed by director Martin Scorsese.

Chanel wanted to make the best television commercials possible to mark the launch of its new men’s fragrance. That’s why they turned to famed director Martin Scorsese, reports Vogue.

The company has already worked with some big names in film like Baz Luhrmann and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Now Chanel is collaborating with the director of Taxi Driver and Gangs of New York for its new ad campaign.

Chanel called on Gaspard Ulliel, a rising star in French cinema, to be the face of this fragrance.

The name of the perfume has not yet been released.

President of Chanel Fragrance and Beaute Andrea D’Avack says, "Chanel has a tradition several decades long of working with the most prominent movie directors in the world. To work with Martin Scorsese, who is one of the best, if not the best movie director alive today, is a privilege Chanel has been seeking for quite some time."

The ad campaign launches in September.

Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Shutter Island, opens in theatres today (February 19).
