New Collaborators for Rod Stewart

The Black Keys would like to work on a blues album with Rod Stewart.

At a party after the Grammys, Rod Stewart, 63, mentioned that he would like to collaborate with the group The Black Keys for his next album which will have a blues sound.  This surprised the drummer of The Black Keys, Patrick Carney, who told Billboard, that they were very flattered by his interest in them.

However, The Black Keys had a condition to this offer.  They would like Rod Stewart to work with them in their hometown in Ohio. "As soon as he comes to Akron. Maybe somebody will make the first move," added guitarist Dan Auerbach.

The Black Keys tend to collaborate with musicians that are twice their age. In 2005, they did a remake with the Kinks, Act Nice and Gentle, for which Ray Davies was also involved.  Carney and Auerbach have also worked with Ike Turner.

The Black Keys will be releasing their album, Attack & Release, on April 1. They are starting a North American tour in March.
