New exhibit at Women’s Museum in Greater Montreal

Le Chef ?…C’est elle! takes visitors on a journey through grandmother’s kitchen.

An exploration into the world of women in the kitchen, a new exhibit Le Chef ?…C’est elle!, will run from October 6 to February 17, 2012 at the Women’s Museum in Longeuil, Quebec, located in the Greater Montreal region.

The idea for the exhibit came through an inter-museum collaboration between the Women’s Museum and the Escoffier Museum in Villeneuve Loubet, France.

Visitors can travel through the kitchens of their grandmothers and mothers, tracing the history of cuisine. The exhibit also reveals a great deal of history about Quebec, and the debut of television chefs, who became household names, including a whole new younger generation of food stars.

The Women’s Museum is closed on Monday, is only open for special reservations on Tuesdays. From Wednesday to Friday, it’s open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm, and on weekends from 11 am to 5 pm. Guided tours are available.
