Summit Entertainment has announced that filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke will not be directing the film New Moon, which is the follow-up to Twilight.
The film is expected to open at the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010.
The director simply doesn’t have enough time to adequately bring her vision of the movie to fruition. She did reveal, however, that directing Twilight was one of the best experiences of her life.
Despite the fact that Summit Entertainment has to find a new director, the production company said that they were delighted to have worked with Hardwicke.
