New Music August 30

Big releases hit shelves this week as summer winds down.

As summer begins to wane, we start to see some major releases coming out of the studios this week, including the long-awaited and much-delayed Tha Carter IV from Lil Wayne, as well as new music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lenny Kravitz.

This week, the Red Hot Chili Peppers release their tenth studio album, I’m With You, a follow-up to their popular 2006 album Stadium Arcadium. The new LP features 14 tracks including the debut single, The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, which was released for download on July 18 and followed with a music video debut on August 18.

Lil Wayne drops his ninth studio album today, after several delays. When Tha Carter IV was first announced at the beginning of the year, the album was originally due out in the spring. Come March, Wayne said the album would drop in May, but by the end of April, that date had been pushed back to June before getting delayed once more until the end of August.

The new Lenny Kravitz album, Black and White America, also hits shelves today. His ninth studio album, the LP is a follow-up to 2008’s It’s Time for a Love Revolution. The album’s 16 tracks feature stars like Jay-Z and Drake.
