New music from both sides of the border

Canadian rock legends Bachman & Turner release new album

Canadian rockers Bachman & Turner release a new album today, called simply Bachman & Turner. The band created such classics as Takin’ Care of Business and You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.  Fans can download a free preview track on the band’s website. South of the border, Interpol is back with its first album in three years. The self-titled album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in NYC and is the first since bassist Carlos D left the band. Interpol leaves for Europe soon where the band will open for U2 on dates between September 18 and October 18. After that, Interpol starts its own headlining tour.

We Were So Turned On: A Tribute to David Bowie also came out today. The tribute album features Bowie covers by Canada’s own Lights, Carla Bruni, Duran Duran, MGMT, Devandra Banhart’s Megapuss and Swahili Blonde featuring John Frusciante.
