Rapper Nicki Minaj is preparing to launch her second album, ahead of schedule, reports Billboard.com.
Co-CEO and founder of the Cash Money label, Brian "Birdman" Williams confirmed that Minaj, who launched her first album Pink Friday in November 2010, will be launching her second album in early 2012.
"Nicki’s back in the studio, so we’re looking to drop Nicki in the first quarter," he said.
The album’s first single could be released to before the end of the year.
“Maybe this year? I don’t know," said Birdman. “We’re really thinking it out. But she’s in the studio, and we’re looking real soon, because she’s ready to go and we’re ready to go with her.”
Last weekend at the American Music Awards, Minaj won favorite rap artist and favorite rap album for Pink Friday.
