New Order could reunite for gig

Manchester band that influenced electronic alternative scene could reunite for a gig.

Three years after the band broke up, the differences between the three New Order bandmates Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and bassist Peter Hook may have finally been settled. In 2007, Hook told his bandmates point blank that he was finished with the group.

Now, drummer Stephen Morris, when asked by a fan whether he and Bernard Sumner would ever put aside their differences with bassist Peter Hook, said: "New Order could play a gig together again."

Morris was the guest at an NME event to promote a remastered Joy Division box set called ‘+-‘. New Order was created by the three surviving members of Joy Division, after the suicide of singer Ian Curtis.

Unfortunately, when pressed further on the subject, Stephen Morris chose not to expand on his thoughts. It was quite a surprise since it was well known by fans and the industry how much Peter Hook had wanted to move on from New Order.
