New owners for Grosvenor House hotel in London

Indian conglomerate buys one of England’s finest hotels.

The luxurious Grosvenor House hotel in London no longer belongs to British interests. In a transaction valued at approximately $730 million dollars, the Royal Bank of Scotland sold the the prestigious institution to Indian conglomerate, the Sahara Group.

Before the economic crisis of 2008, Grosvenor House, however, was valued at over $1.5 billion, but despite the price of the transaction, it appears that both parties are satisfied with the sale.

Located in one of the smartest districts of the English capital, the Grosvenor House Hotel offers its guests a total of 420 rooms, 74 suites and 27 meeting rooms.

The new owners have already announced they intend to open an Indian restaurant, pool, spa and a nightclub in the hotel.
