Screen Gems will release the fourth Resident Evil on September 17, 2010.
Entitled, Resident Evil: Afterlife, the film will be closer to the style of the second film, Resident Evil: Apocalyspe, but still dark.
The new adventure takes place in Tokyo, Japan, but no further details on the story have been given. Milla Jovovich will reprise her role again as Alice in the fourth film.
Last year, screenwriter Paul W.S. Anderson confirmed that he was writing a new script, especialy since the third film, Resident Evil: Extinction, left the door open for another movie.
The first Resident Evil movie, released in 2002, grossed 39.5 million dollars at the box office. The second film, released in 2004, made 50.7 million dollars and the third movie, released in 2007, grossed 50.6 million dollars.
