An unreleased track from Kanye West titled Mama’s Boyfriend has leaked online, reports Billboard.
West first performed the song live a year ago during an event held by Facebook, but the studio version was never officially released. The track failed to make the final cut for West’s recent album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but that’s more likely to do with its old-school sound not quite fitting in with the rest of the album.
"It took me 32 years of my life to write it," West said in a statement. "It means a lot to me."
The semi-autobiographical track follows West as a young boy, telling off the suitors who would try to hook up with his single mother.
"Trying to get to know me homie? / Just kill the charm. / You’re not interested in me. / You’re just trying to f— my mom," raps West.
By the end of the track the singer has grown up, and in a Cat’s in the Cradle twist, he’s now the boyfriend in question, being told off by the son of a single mom.
