New Songs Added to Grammy Hall of Fame

Recordings by Bob Marley, James Brown, the Beach Boys, Louis Armstrong and many others are being inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The Recording Academy, which oversees the most prestigious prizes in music, announced that 25 new songs will become part of their Hall of Fame.

Now, there are 851 classic songs immortalized by the Academy, which include a wide range of artists.

Among the new entries is Bob Marley’s Catch a Fire.  The debut album was recorded by Marley’s band, the Wailers, in 1972.  The 1966 recording of James Brown’s It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World also made the cut, as well as the Beach Boys tune California Girls, from the album Summer Days.  Jazzman Louis Armstrong’s Lazy River, recorded in 1931, was also selected by the panel.
