White Stripes fans must be patient, because the duo is not planning on releasing a new album until next year.
Band leader Jack White joined the group The Dead Weather and is set to tour with them this summer.
However, the White Stripes did find a little time to work on new material, and even managed to record two songs.
In addition to Meg White’s illness in 2007, the birth of Jack White’s son seriously limited the number of hours they could work together on their next disc.
"We were trying to cram everything into a short time span, and we were just plowin’, man! The train was out of control," White says. He spoke about the forthcoming album, revealing that the disc “won’t be too far off. Maybe next year.”
