Newly remastered concert doc Elvis On Tour available next week

Elvis’ 75th birthday presents to the world include a new record and box set.

Elvis Presley would be celebrating his 75th birthday this year, if he has not left this earth too soon in ’77. But, as it turns out, the King’s untimely death in no way precludes the availability of a new record and newly-remastered concert doc.

The Elvis tour documentary Elvis on Tour has been  remastered for release DVD and Blu-ray next week, hot on the heels of the announcement that Viva Elvis, a CD of his Vegas hits, will hit racks shortly.

The film, which at the time won a Golden Globe for Best Documentary, follows the King on a short American tour of 15 cities in 1972. The newly remastered version includes an introduction by Priscilla Presley, his wife, and extra footage that had been cut out of the first version.

A box set of 17 of his films, including Elvis on Tour, will be launched simultaneously.
