American rock band Pearl Jam, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, could be marking the occasion with the release of a new album, reports Gibson.
Frontman Eddie Vedder and the band are in the recording studio right now. According to him, they are working on the follow-up to 2009’s Backspacer, and it’s coming together more quickly than expected.
The band’s 10th studio album sessions occur during a year that will include a 20th anniversary summer festival in Wisconsin and an upcoming documentary by Cameron Crowe.
With the recent release of his solo album Ukulele Songs, Vedder spoke to Rolling Stone about the occasion.
“I feel like we have to keep our eyes on the road,” he said. “Being nostalgic is like taking an offramp and getting a sandwich – and then you get back on the highway. I don’t want to be spending the rest of my life at the gas station.”
