Niagara Falls aglow this holiday season

Ontario city home to Winter Festival of Lights.

Niagara Falls, Ontario comes alive this winter at the Winter Festival of Lights with a new host of seasonal activities for young and old alike, including a carousel, candy land and fireworks.

Currently running until January 8, the new carousel is located in Queen Victoria Place, overlooking the falls. From now until December 24, the ride is open Thursday through Sunday; from December 26 until January 8, it will be open daily from noon until 8 p.m.

The carousel is the main attraction of the new Victorian Candy Land, but visitors can also enjoy a steaming mug of hot chocolate or make their own s’mores over an open fire.

From there, let the whimsical Snowflake Honor Guard welcome you into the Ice Castle – a magical transformation of the Table Rock Visitors Center – elegantly decorated thanks to the efforts of the Niagara Parks Horticulture Team.

Every Friday night until January 27, the sky over the falls will light up with a fireworks display. New Year’s Eve also includes a free concert from 9 p.m. to midnight.
