Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys said that his parents’ divorce has changed his perception of marriage.
The singer’s parents, Jane and Robert, separated in 2003, but during the singer’s childhood the couple fought nonstop.
"There was a ton of fighting. The kids would be thrown into the middle, to choose sides," described Carter.
After their divorce, Carter turned to alcohol and drugs, and his ideas about marriage have since changed. "I don’t believe in marriage," he admitted.
But that doesn’t stop him from wanting to start a family. Currently, he is dating a saleswoman whom he met last year.
