Nickelback Nominated for Five Junos

The group Nickelback has become the biggest contender for the Juno Awards, after receiving five nominations.

Chad Kroeger and the members of Nickelback have swept the nominations for the Juno Awards, honouring Canadian music. The Albertan group was chosen among others for Group of the Year and for Album of the Year.

Sam Roberts of Quebec follows in second with four nominations, including Artist of the Year and Rock Album of the Year.

Singer Celine Dion and the group Hedley each earned three nominations.

Other artists nominated include Michael Bublé, Kardinal Offishall, Alanis Morissette, Ariane Moffatt, Karkwa, The Lost Fingers and Simple Plan.

The Juno Awards ceremony will take place on March 29 in Vancouver. Nickelback, Simple Plan, and Sarah McLachlan will be giving performances.
