Nickelback voted number 1 musical turnoff

Canadian rockers were the one band that most people could not stand.

Canadian rockers Nickelback were voted the number one musical turnoff by men and women voting in an online poll at tastebuds.fmTastebuds is an online site that helps users meet other people who share their passion for music.

The website recently asked users what their musical turnoffs were, that is, the bands they really couldn’t stand. Each user was allow to specify up to 12 musical acts that turned them off and Nickelback came out on top with almost 13 percent of both male and female users specifying the band as a turnoff.

“The land of ice hockey and maple syrup has produced one of the most hated bands of our time. But it doesn’t stop there – Canadian child prodigy Justin Bieber came a very close second in our study. How can one nation be responsible for these crimes? Summon the ambassador!” states the website blog.

“We’re just messing… plenty of decent bands have come out of Canada. Arcade Fire for example are the 3rd most popular band on Tastebuds. It’s also important to mention that both Nickelback and Bieber ranked as the top two turnoffs for Canadian users so they’re well aware of the monsters they’ve created.”

In third place, Lady Gaga was followed by Kesha, Coldplay, U2, and Creed, with Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, and Britney Spears rounding out the top ten musical turnoffs.
