Nicola Formichetti will debut his first handbag line for Mugler at Paris Fashion Week today (26.09.12).

The 35-year-old designer – who cast Lady Gaga in his fall/winter 2011-12 show – will round off the day on the catwalk by unveiling his fourth collection for the brand in the French capital later today.

Nicola’s showcase will be preceded by Guy Laroche, Alexis Mabille and Nicolas Andreas Taralis before Dries Van Noten becomes the first big name to take to the catwalk.

London-based designer Gareth Pugh – who first showed at Paris Fashion Week in 2008 – will also be unveiling his latest spring/summer designs later today and his dark work is expected to attract a host of stars to the front row of the catwalk including his long-term friend and fan Daphne Guinness.

What’s more, luxe daywear specialists Rochas will take to the runway and Martine Sitbon’s latest Rue du Mail creations will be available for all to see this evening, prior to Nicola’s handbag range taking centre stage.

The first day of Paris Fashion Week – which is always reserved for emerging young talent – got off to the perfect start yesterday (25.09.12) with Moon Young Hee, Fatima Lopes, Cedric Charlier, Julien David and Anthony Vaccarello showcasing their latest garments on the runway.

Fatima particularly impressed with a range of sexy, skin-tight minidresses and layering proved to be a popular theme for many designers.
