Nicole Kidman in Little Bee

Nicole Kidman will produce and star in the film Little Bee, inspired from the Chris Cleave novel.

Variety reports that the actress will star in the film Little Bee, a film adapted from the Chris Cleave novel, for which BBC Films has acquired the rights.

Kidman’s company, Blossom Films, will co-produce the project with Gail Mutrux from Pretty Pictures, while Shawn Slovo (Catch a Fire, A World Apart) will write the screenplay.

The story follows the fateful encounter between a Nigerian orphan and British tourists who venture beyond their hotel’s safety zone.

Kidman is currently wrapping up the shoot of  her company’s first film production, Rabbit Hole, also starring Aaron Eckhart and Dianne Wiest. The film is expected to hit theatres next year. In the meantime, we can see the actress in Nine the musical, which opens on November 25.
