Lawyers for the star of the television series Simple Life have asked the judge for more time before the hearing.
Richie was stopped in December of 2006, for the second time, for driving while intoxicated. Richie, who is the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, was also arrested in 2003 for the same offense.
In other news, Richie confirmed earlier this week that she is pregnant with her first child.
