Nicole Scherzinger prepares for U.S. release of new solo album

Former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman already has a single charting in the UK.

Former lead vocalist for Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger, 33, whose single Don’t Hold Your Breath is number 1 in the UK, said she has yet to choose what she will sing on The X Factor this fall.

"If it were up to me I would be performing every week," Scherzinger told Billboard.com. "I have to make sure to have the right song [for ‘X Factor’]. It has to be a song that people will love. I’m judging a show where the prize is $5 million. The bar is raised. I know what I’m looking for and I’m going to make something special. My idea for the presentation is to throw everything into it. It’s full throttle."

In June, Fox announced Scherzinger would replace Cheryl Cole, whose contract Fox had terminated. Originally co-host with Steve Jones, Scherzinger will now serve as judge alongside Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. The challenge should be a formality for Scherzinger who was a jury member on NBC’s show The Sing Off.

The U.S. version of her new album Killer Love is due out November 15, and will feature an alternate track listing. Scherzinger confirmed, during an interview with MTV, that the U.S. album would contain contributions from RedOne, Ne-Yo, Jim Jonsin, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

As well, 50 Cent will be featured on the lead single, a new version of the Jonsin-produced, Right There. American hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg appears on the song Peep Show, written and produced by Harvey Mason, Jr. and R. Kelly.
