Nirvana bassist on next Foo Fighters album

Former Nirvana bandmates, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, play together on upcoming album.

In the past, Dave Grohl admitted he was getting restless with Foo Fighters, and the band took a break after the release of their greatest hits album last year.

Founded by Grohl after the suicide of Kurt Cobain, the band is back in the studio at work on a new album. Collaborating on specific songs with former Nirvana bandmate, Krist Novselic, and Husker Du and Sugar frontman, Bob Mould, Grohl says it will be the ‘heaviest album to date.’

The band has recorded seven songs with producer Butch Vig, the man behind Nirvana’s legendary Nevermind album, and Grohl claims the album will be super heavy, with “no acoustic guitars at all.”

Although no release date has been confirmed, Grohl says they plan to launch the album next year.
