NKOTBSB working on collab album

New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys will release joint album in October.

As their joint tour comes to an end, NKOTBSB – a super boy-band group comprised of New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys – isn’t finished yet: the two groups now have a collaborative album in the works.

Due out in October, the new album will contain ‘mash-ups’ – the overlaying and remixing of two or more tracks to create a single song –  from both back catalogues, as well as their debut single, Don’t Turn Out the Lights, which the super-group released back in April.

"I don’t see this as the last NKOTBSB moment. So I’m not too sad about it. If I knew it was, I would be a little more sad," New Kid on the Block Jordan Knight told the London Free Press after the group’s last show on August 7.

New Kids on the Block grew to staggering popularity in the late ’80s and early ’90s, before disbanding in 1994. Backstreet Boys, a completely separate endeavour at the time, hit the scene in 1996. The two pop acts first teamed up at a June 2010 NKOTB concert in New York City.
