No Deal Reached Between the Beatles and iTunes
Rumours have been brewing about a historic contract in the works to make Beatles songs available for downloading on iTunes.
Ernesto Schmitt, catalogue president at EMI, told the Financial Times that no contract has been signed. "Conversations between Apple and EMI are ongoing and we look forward to the day when we can make music available digitally. But it’s not tomorrow," he stressed.
Paul McCartney would like to see the deal happen, but he blames EMI for slowing down negotiations.
