No Doubt starts the year in the studio

American rock band ready to start recording new album.

After taking a break from 2005 to 2008 to pursue solo projects, American rock band No Doubt is getting ready to record their first studio album since 2001’s Rock Steady, reports Spinner.

On Monday (January 3) on the band’s Twitter site, guitarist Tom Dumont announced, “Holidays over. 2010 done. 10 new songs written. No Doubt’s 2011 New Years resolution: to record our new album…beginning TODAY!"

Last year, the group, led by the charismatic singer Gwen Stefani, spent much of their time writing and recording some demos, but it seems that in 2011, No Doubt is finally ready to take the next step.

No release date has been announced for the as-yet-untitled album. In 2003, the group released a compilation album The Singles 1992-2003.
