According to MTV News, the rumours began circulating because singer Chris Martin revealed that he would like to spend more time with his family. The 28 year-old man is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The stars have two children.
Ambrosia Healy, a representative for Capitol Records, denies reports that the band will take a five-year break, although she does admit that Coldplay members would like to have some time off.
Coldplay is currently enjoying some free time since their 2005 release of X&Y. There are no projects currently on schedule for the band.
