No more painted ponies for Selena Gomez

Pop star removes lavender horses from music video after uproar from animal rights activists.

Pop star Selena Gomez is pulling the painted ponies from her music video after getting blasted by fellow musician Pink and other animal rights activists, reports Teen Music.

Pink launched a flurry of activity and criticism when she took to Twitter to announce she’d just seen a crew painting horses for use in a music video, denouncing the unknown artist for being irresponsible.

"If there are any animal activists around Malibu-at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions," tweeted the pop punk singer.

Details later surfaced that the artist in question was Gomez, who was planning to include the two lavender-painted horses in her newest music video.

"A non-toxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water," a spokesperson explained to People.com. "An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising."

Despite the precautions, it seems Gomez has taken Pink’s shaming to heart. E! Online reports that the horses have been removed from the final cut of the video.
