The people of the city of New Orleans love the actor, especially because of his activism following the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina.
However, the 45-year-old actor has no plans to become a political figure in the town, and added that his chances of winning an election would be slim. While being interviewed by Ann Curry of the Today show, he joked, "I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform. I don’t have a chance."
Pitt also talked about his Make It Right foundation, which he believes has truly made a difference in the lives of the people of New Orleans. The foundation’s plan is to build 150 houses in the city by 2010, benefitting those who lost their homes in the 2005 natural disaster.
