The band mates will continue to play together, and plan to offer their fans music through non-traditional media, rather than completing albums.
Drummer Jimmy Chamberlin wrote on the group’s website that although they have decided not to record any more discs, they will continue to write and make music until they die.
The musician also spoke about rumours that the Smashing Pumpkins had split, saying that the stories are totally false. The band had split in 2000, but reunited last year.
