Jennifer Love Hewitt wants to set the record straight. She did not give her boyfriend, Jamie Kennedy, a deadline to get engaged. Starpulse reports that the couple has no plans to quickly marry.
The Ghost Whisperer actress sparked rumours last year when she told an interviewer she wanted to be engaged by the summer of 2010. She said, "By this time next year, if we’re not planning something, then there’s a situation."
New rumours are surfacing that suggest Jamie Kennedy popped the question on stage during her television show. The couple is strongly denying they have any news to tell.
Meanwhile, Hewitt says she did not give her boyfriend an ultimatum and is not waiting for an engagement ring because they are not ready to wed.
She says, "The engagement thing was blown out of all proportion. When I made that comment about there being a ‘situation’, I wasn’t really giving him a time clock. If it’s going to happen it will happen, but right now we are not rushing anything. We are both just really happy."
Last September, it was rumoured that Jamie Kennedy had cheated on Jennifer Love Hewitt with his ex-girlfriend Shannon Funk. A rep for the couple said this story was completely untrue, made up by a former disgruntled employee.
Hewitt was said to be very hurt by these rumours.
