Noel Gallagher faces his attacker

Noel Gallagher will attend the hearing of a man who attacked him on stage.

Musician Noel Gallagher asked to attend a hearing to listen to the testimony of a man who attacked him on stage during a concert, reports Orange News.

The rocker broke several ribs after Danny Pickering got up on stage and jumped on him during an Oasis show in Toronto in September 2008.

The 48-year old man pleaded guilty to assault charges. Now, Gallagher wants to be present at his sentencing hearing.

Defense lawyer John Collins asked the judge to refuse this request, saying that Gallagher is trying to control the process.

The judge decided to grant permission to Gallagher so the hearing was adjourned last Friday (January 5) to set a date when the artist could attend.

Noel Gallagher left Oasis last August following a fight with his brother, Liam. He is now working solo while his brother confirmed he is working on new material with the rest of Oasis, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
