Noel Gallagher gets his kicks from Adidas

Musician to launch limited edition running shoe later this month.

Former Oasis member Noel Gallagher has not only launched his own solo musical project with new album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, but is now branching out into fashion design, with his own limited edition shoe for Adidas, reports The Sun.

On October 22, only 120 pairs of the trainer will be available at a single storefront: the Adidas shop on Newburgh St. in London, U.K. Each pair will set you back about $130.

The footwear looks identical to the company’s classic Training ’72 shoe – in fact, they’re based upon that original design – made of plain white leather with three diagonal bars of color on either side, but the sport the musician’s initials on the heel, and an image of his face – in shiny gold ink – on the tongue.

"I’ve been buying Adidas trainers since I was a young dude," explained Gallagher. "To have my name put to a pair is truly mind-blowing."

The limited edition run is part of a deal Gallagher struck with the company when he agreed to take part in their Adidas Originals Star Wars ad a few years back. In exchange for his appearance, Gallagher was paid a hefty sum, but also requested two VIP tickets to the soccer World Cup Final and the opportunity to create his own running shoe.
