Noel Gallagher to announce solo album?

Former Oasis guitarist calls press conference for tomorrow.

Former Oasis lead guitarist and principal songwriter Noel Gallagher has called a press conference for tomorrow (July 6), fueling speculation that his long-awaited solo album might finally be ready, reports Clash Music.

The British musician sent out press invites through his own label, Sour Mash Records, which he founded in 2001. The event will be private affair with invited guests only.

Gallagher has remained tight-lipped about his solo endeavor, causing rumors to run rampant. In February, he denied having even started working on the album, although his estranged brother Liam insisted that the tracks were already written.

By March 23, Josh Franceschi, lead singer for You Me At Six, revealed through Twitter that Gallagher was recording in the same studio.

Noel Gallagher recently married his long-term partner Sara MacDonald on June 18 at a private ceremony in England.

In the meantime, Liam’s new band, Beady Eye – which he formed with remaining Oasis members Andy Bell and Gem Archer after his brother quit the group – released their debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, to mixed reviews at the beginning of March.
