Noel Gallagher to write James Bond theme?

British singer-songwriter rumored to be in talks to provide title track for 23rd spy movie.

British musician Noel Gallagher is reportedly in talks to write the theme song for the 23rd James Bond movie, Skyfall, due in theaters next October 26, 2012, reports the Sun.

The newspaper said the former Oasis member is in talks with franchise producers in the coming days to discuss the possibility of him writing a song for the new James Bond film starring Daniel Craig.

A source revealed that Gallagher was about to meet with the producer Michael G. Wilson in Los Angeles.

“They’re going to talk about potentially writing and performing the song for next year’s new Bond film. Nothing is signed or official, it’s just being discussed at the moment.”

Gallagher once said he had an unreleased song that would be perfect for the action-adventure series. In 2008, he spoke of his song Freaky Teeth, "I listened back to it thinking, ‘That’d make a f—- great Bond theme,” and complained how unfortunate it was “that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans.”

The last Bond film, Quantum of Solace (2008), featured a duet between Alicia Keys and Jack White. Earlier, there were rumors that Adele would be singing the Bond theme, however the producers deny this. Canadian crooner Michael Bublé was reportedly also in the running.
