Nominations for the Independent Spirit Awards

The movie I’m Not There is at the top of the nominations for the Independent Spirit Awards.

The Independent Film Organisation revealed the projects in cinema that could win the Spirit award.

 

The movie I’m Not There, based on the life of folk singer, Bob Dylan, seems to be at the top of the list of nominees. It received four nominations for Best Film and Best Supporting Actor. The movie will also receive the Robert Altman award, given to Todd Hayes for production and distribution.

 

There were many female actresses that have been nominated for their role in independent films including:  Angelina Jolie in A Mighty Heart, Sienna Miller in Interview, Ellen Page in Juno, Parker Posey in Broken English and Tang Wei in Lust, Caution.

 

The male nominees for Best Actor are: Pedro Castaneda for August Evening, Don Cheadle for Talk To Me, Philip Seymour Hoffman for The Savages, Frank Langella for Starting Out in the Evening and Tony Leung for Lust, Caution.

 

The Independent Spirit Awards are on February 23, the day before the Oscars.
