NYC Thanksgiving Day Parade this Thursday
This Thursday (November 24), giant balloons and marching bands will take over the streets of New York City as the 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade gets underway, reports About.com.
The show begins at 9 a.m. at Central Park West. From there, the parade will travel along 77th Street to Columbus Circle, then along Central Park South and 7th Avenue, before taking 42nd Street to 6th Avenue, 6th Avenue to 34th Street, and finally wrapping up at Macy’s Herald Square.
Near the beginning of the route, the parade should last about an hour and a half, but will swell to a three-hour show by the time the balloons, bands and floats reach the end of the route.
To ensure a good spot, many parade fans will show up as early as 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the show. For those who prefer to watch from the comfort of home, the parade will be broadcast on NBC from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Revelers can also stop by the Museum of Natural History on Wednesday (November 23) to watch the massive balloons being inflated between 3 and 10 p.m.
