Offspring to Recycle Old Songs

The Offspring have dug into their song vault for new album material.

In an interview with Billboard.com, guitarist Kevin Wasserman of California’s The Offspring revealed some tidbits on the band’s forthcoming album.

Wassermann explained that singer Dexter Holland and producer Bob Rock are currently listening to the group’s previously recorded songs from a decade ago that were never released, and are examining the possibility of reworking them.

Rock, a sought-after producer following his work on Metallica’s "black album" in 1990, also took charge of the punk rockers’ album Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, released last year.

The Offspring hopes to release an album next year, but their current tour has deterred the group from setting foot into the studio before January 2010, although the option of recycling old song material would allow them to meet their objectives.
