Old Quebec City comes alive with ghosts

Old Quebec City provides historical backdrop for Halloween ghost walk.

With Halloween fast approaching, those looking for some scary delights in the province’s capital may want to check out the Authentic Ghost Tour and the Original Evening Lantern Walking Tour of Old Québec City, taking place each evening until October 31.

Historic buildings and cobblestone streets provide an authentic backdrop for the spooky, lantern-lit ghost walks. For 90 frightful minutes, visitors will follow a costumed tour guide through the streets of Old Quebec, regaled with fact-based stories researched in Ottawa’s National Library.

Tours are available in both English and French. The English-language ghost walk departs nightly – rain or shine – at 8:00 p.m. from the small outdoor sitting area where rue du Petit-Champlain meets Boulevard Champlain.

Tickets cost $19 for adults and $16 for students and seniors. Kids under 10 can join for free if accompanied by an adult, but the tour is not recommended for young children.
