The actress recently revealed that many people predicted that she’d never have a career in the entertainment industry if she didn’t keep her marriage a secret.
Wilde has been married for six years to filmmaker and guitarist, Tao Ruspoli. The beauty became a bride at the age of 19, before she made her debut on the television series The O.C.
In order to be more attractive to male fans, it was strongly suggested that Wilde keep her relationship with Ruspoli out of the headlines. However, Wilde refused to keep her husband in the dark, and is proving that she made the right choice as her career soars. In addition to The O.C., she also appeared in House, as well as the film Year One.
"There were times when people thought it would really hurt me. People said I shouldn’t be married, or (I should) lie about being married," she told GQ magazine.
