Only 3 animated films to get Oscar nominations
For the category of best animated film, 15 films have just been selected by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences as possible contenders for the upcoming Oscars.
When qualified submissions number between eight and 15, it means only three films can be nominated in the Best Animated Feature category. These films can also be submitted in other categories including best film of the year.
The three films with the most votes will vie for Best Animated Feature award, and will be announced on January 25. The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony will be held February 27, 2011 in Los Angeles.
Animated films submitted for 2011 Academy Awards nominations include:

– The Dreams of Jinsha
– How to Train Your Dragon
– Idiots and Angels
– The Illusionist
– Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole
– Megamind
– My Dog Tulip
– Shrek Forever After
– Summer Wars
– Tangled
– Tinker Bell Fairy and the Great Rescue
– Toy Story 3
