Opening of Ferrari World postponed

Opening of world’s largest indoor amusement park in Abu Dhabi postponed until November 4.

Speed demons will have to wait until November 4 to get a first glimpse of the world’s largest indoor amusement park, Ferrari World, which features rides and attractions based on the legendary racing car.

Abu Dhabi, like Dubai, is one of seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates. The city hopes to become one of the main tourist destinations in the Middle East, especially for visitors travelling in nearby Dubai.

The recent death of Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, ruler of emirate Ras Al Khaimah since 1948, has pushed the park’s opening to November 4, to allow for an appropriate public mourning period.

The rescheduled opening will occur in time for the very first Grand Prix Formula 1 that will be held November 14, 2010. The event should attract thousands of racing fans who will undoubtedly want to visit a park dedicated to all things Ferrari.

Inside the massive park, twenty different attractions, including Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, reaching speeds of up to 240 km/h, will offer visitors a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
