O, the official magazine of the American TV queen Oprah Winfrey, sets the record straight on the star’s sexual orientation. In fact, she refutes all rumors of her being a lesbian. Her friendship with editor Gayle King would be behind these rumors.
Both ladies have been friends for almost 30 years and some have alleged a secret relation between the two. But this would be completely false, even though the women call each other four times a day.
In the August issue of O, the Oprah Magazine, the talk-show host explains: "I understand why people think we’re gay. There isn’t a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it — how can you be this close without it being sexual?"
The two friends say they would have no problem telling the public if they were in a sexual relationship. Gayle is quite clear on that: "The truth is, if we were gay, we would tell you, because there’s nothing wrong with being gay,"
