Organic solutions to bad hair days

Yves Rocher unveils six botanical hair care lines.

French cosmetics company Yves Rocher is launching a new collection of hair care products made from organically-grown botanical ingredients. Six different lines target a specific purpose: Nutrition, Volume, Shine, Clarify, Radiance and Detangle.

The Nutrition line includes shampoo, conditioner, a repairing mask and a repairing balm for dry ends. Designed for dry hair, the products are made with oats, which are "recognized for their hair nourishing and scalp soothing properties," the company explains.

The Shine line is designed for normal hair and includes shampoo and a radiance mask made from marigolds grown in La Gacilly, France. For those with fine hair, the Volume line uses Mallow extract in its shampoo and volumizing spray. Oily hair sufferers can try the Clarify purifying shampoo made from nettle.

The Radiance and Detangle lines are suitable for all hair types. The rinsing vinegar made from raspberries promises to "bring out the natural shine and radiance of your hair." The detangling styling water utilizes the coating and smoothing properties of linden to help tame unruly hair.

The products are all silicone and paraben-free, and the botanical ingredients are organically grown, mostly in France. The complete collection will be available online and in Yves Rocher stores this September.
