Orlando Bloom Offered Leading Role

Orlando Bloom was offered a part played by Alain Delon in Le Cercle rouge.

Director Johnnie To and screenwriter Wai Ka-Fai are working on the remake of the 1970s French film, Le Cercle rouge, which featured Alain Delon, Bourvil and Yves Montand.

The lead role was offered to Orlando Bloom, who would be playing the character, Corey, a man freed from prison who is not fully rehabilitated.

In addition, British actor Liam Neeson (The Chronicles of Narnia) and Chow Yun-Fat (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) could also be taking part in this adventure.

Orlando Bloom has not shot a film since Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. There are rumours that he might be appearing in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in June 2009, but nothing has been confirmed.
