Most sites are listing Brokeback Moutain as the evening’s big winner, with a four in five chance at winning the Best Film category. The odds for Crash are 2-1, Good Night, and Good Luck have 3-1, Capote has been listed at 30-1, and Munich came in at 40-1. Brokeback Mountain director, Ang Lee, is also the favourite for Best Director.
In the Best Actor category, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman’s portrayal of Capote is expected to beat actor Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain.
Actress Reese Witherspoon is expected to win Best Actress for her performance in Walk the Line, although numerous sites are predicting a win by Felicity Huffman for her performance in Transamerica.
Tsotsi is expected to earn the Best Foreign Film title.
The Oscars will be presented live on Sunday evening.
