Ottawa airport wins top global award for customer service

Capital city ranks number one in customer service among airports of its size.

During a press conference last Tuesday (February 15) with about hundred employees, Paul Benoit, proud chief executive of the Ottawa International Airport, announced that the airport had won the worldwide top rank for customer service among airports of its size.

A survey conducted by the International Airport Service Quality appointed the airport in the nation’s capital as the best in its class for the level of customer service it provides to its passengers. No fewer than 36 aspects of service were measured, including the quality of on-screen flight information, the attention of employees at the counters, the availability of luggage carts, waiting times, and customs.

"This award is very meaningful to us because it comes through our clients, and because it’s the celebration of a team effort," said Benoit. "Every organization and individual at the airport has the opportunity to make a difference for our clients every day, and clearly many of them do just that. I could not be more proud."

A record 4.47 million travellers passed through the Ottawa Airport last year.
